Guest Speaker: Nigel Metcalfe. This talk follows the story of the High Street over the past seventy years, looking at the history of its well-known shops, both large and small, some of which have been there for decades and remain, and some of which are now long gone.

There will be a reminiscent look at products we will recall from years gone by. Remember Spangles?Or Omo washing powder? Will you remember the advertisements of years past?

However, shopping habits have changed over the years.

Nigel will also talk about the decline of the High Street in more recent years and suggest how we might address this in the future.
