Meetings are held every few weeks in the Barston Memorial Institute on Friday mornings. At each meeting we are following two 30 minute dvd
lectures from The Great Courses with a break in between for coffee/tea/chat.
When appropriate the lectures are paused during playing from time to time for discussion and explanation
Currently the series are “Understanding the World’s Greatest Inventions” and “How Railways Transformed the World”.
Many of our regular attendees do not have a STEM background but enjoy the opportunity U3A offers to learn about something new.
We have occasional STEM visits with conducted/guided tours. In the past our visits have included The Needle Museum in Redditch, the Warwickshire and Gloucester Railway. Stourbridge Glass Museum and the British Motor Museum at Gaydon.
